I have three goals in life: First and most importantly, I want to achieve virtual immortality. Secondly, it would be great to be filthy rich. Finally, I'd like to find true love someday (as in a companion to share my journey with - I would only consider getting married and/or having kids after I achieved one of my first two goals).
Most think that it is incredibly unlikely for me to achieve the first two. I think that I am equally likely to achieve each of my goals. What most people don't realize is just how serious I am... Too many people lose sight of their ambitions as they grow up.
Moving on, I'm currently a freshman in the University of Rochester who is double majoring in biochemistry and economics. (I told you I was serious about my goals) My main hobby here besides playing computer games is probably fencing, although lately, I haven't had much time to partake in either of those activities.
If you drew a line representing the political spectrum and tried to place me on it, it wouldn't work. I would belong in a box labeled "special" drawn on another piece of paper. When it comes to recreational drugs and alcohol, I'm as straight-edged as one can be. I have a strict philosophy that I would never take anything to impair any of my abilities. I also have a very pro-life philosophy - not just in terms of abortions, but also in terms of mercy killing.
From this, you may conclude that I am quite the conservative, but you would be wrong. I said that I am against substances that impair my abilities, but I am all for the development of drugs to enhance my abilities. I support gay marriages and the legalization and regulation of marijuana in the US. I despise all forms of censorship (with the exception of self censorship) and I would support "radical transparency" if such a thing were possible. I also take issue with capital punishment as it exists in our country today. Despite these facts, I do not call myself a liberal either. I consider myself to be politically independent. Between the Democrats and the Republicans, I tend to lean towards the Republicans, but I would never call myself one.
Right now you are probably thinking that I am a lunatic, but just wait until you hear the reasons behind my principles. I'll probably use the first few journal entries I make to tell you. I guarantee you that most of them are not what you would think. I would be delighted if I convinced you that my principles are sound, but I would be equally happy if you responded and convinced me that my logic is flawed. The only way I can lose is if I fail to be thought provoking.
I apologize for the lack of deliberate humor in my biography. Hopefully, you found humor just in realizing what an oddball I am. Even I am amused by my quirks; you know the saying, "He who can laugh at himself will never cease to be amused." I decided that adding deliberate humor would have raised questions about my sincerity. For the record, all of the above is indeed true. I promise that my journal entries will include humor in many forms.
